Boiled egg #203

Daily painting #203. 4"x6" oil on primed canvas panel

Boiled eggs, painted eggs, candy eggs, chocolate eggs.....this is all very egg-citing!! Yes, I know.....that is a really corny stupid joke! But not liking eggs at this time of year, could be really problematic! Eggs of every kind remind us of the season of rebirth and by the time this post goes live in the morning, it will be Easter Sunday! So if you and your family celebrate Easter...."Happy Easter to you!" May your day be full of love, remembrance, thankfulness, family and of course a little bit of chocolate!

Roses #201

Daily painting #201 6"x8" oil on primed canvas panel SOLD

So there nearly wasn't a daily painting #201!!! Today has been a crazy day ....I taught a class this  morning, my son had to get to hockey trials and my daughter had a dress rehearsal for a show she is dancing in next weekend! I seemed to spend most of my afternoon in the car....
I finally had some time to paint some roses in my kitchen.....but I look forward to a long weekend and  the pace slooooooowing down a little for a few days! Easter weekend could not have come soon enough! A long weekend that includes lots of chocolate and hot cross buns.....mmmmm.....sounds good to me!

Morning sky #199

Daily painting #199. 4"x6" oil on primed canvas panel

I wake up every morning to the most awesome view in the world! An amazing sunrise view over the Indian Ocean! Thank goodness I am an early bird so I never miss out on Natures amazing display of early morning light and color....I always feel sorry for people who start their day never having witnessed this inspiring sight. A new day is always full of promise and I love my early mornings usually enjoyed with a good cup of coffee (made by my husband....I will be in trouble if I don't add that very important detail!) Two mornings ago the sky was spectacular! Of course it was a morning when I didn't have time to paint, but I did have time to quickly capture a picture so that I could share it with you...this morning the sky wasn't quite as spectacular but it still had moody sweeps of salmon pinks and oranges. How can one not start the day feeling positive, happy and soulful after witnessing the magic of natures paintbrush....

Three limes #198

Daily painting #198. 6"x8" oil on primed canvas panel

I needed some lemons for a chicken recipe the other day but couldn't find any in the shops or at the market. I really need to plant a lemon tree and surround it with barbed wire so that my dogs don't destroy it or dig it up! Anyway, I ended up buying these large limes. I thought they would do as the very little limes are very tart and sour, so I thought these might be a little different. Well, these are just as potent in flavor! I think I need to do some Thai cooking that requires strong lime flavors to use up all my limes!
